PHYSICAL HEALTH
The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. Therefore, physical health encompasses our body’s well-being, functioning properly and being free from illness, disease or injury. It is how well your body systems and organs function, how it grows and feels.
Physical health is also known as physical wellness. It involves many aspects of our lives such as: having good hygiene, eating well, being physically active, sleeping well and getting enough relaxation.
Our bodies are constantly telling us something we need to do more, or do less. We just need to listen to our bodies, because HEALTH IS WEALTH.
WHAT CAN WE DO BETTER FROM TODAY?
- Exercise Regularly; Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per day.
- Eat a Balanced Diet: Focus on whole, unprocessed foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains and lean proteins.
- Get Enough Sleep: Get at least 7-9 hours of sleep per night.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
